The Community School of the Arts offers need-based scholarships to private lesson students through the generosity of community grant organizations, including the Barnes County United Way. Scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are available until grant funds are expended. Students are not guaranteed scholarships, even if eligibility is demonstrated.
Students who are eligible for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program at school are eligible for tuition assistance at the Community School of the Arts.
In general, scholarship awards are equal to one-half of the tuition rate for lessons annually on one instrument. Scholarship students wishing to take lessons on a second instrument will be required to pay full tuition for lessons on the second instrument. Families may have more than one student on scholarship, but the second instrument tuition applies to each student. The director of the CSA Music Division reserves the right to alter the amounts of scholarship awards given, depending on demand and the availability of funds.
Students must submit a copy of the eligibility letter for Free/Reduced Lunch from their school district with the Lesson Application Form.
